I get that, in this time where fascism rises in the west and our time and emotions are being commodified by the larger tech industry, finding silver linings in the mushroom clouds seems like a most vile form of toxic positivity. I was very much under that opinion. And then, on the morning of this night (as of writing this) I create this website.
Participating in the indie web has been an eye-opening experience, one that's made me realize just how jacked up the internet and social media has become, and one that reminded me how beautiful of a place the internet can be given the right structure. I've seen art, outlooks and experiences while surfing neo-cities that get lost in the algo-driven, ragebait-induced slopfest that social media has become.
Basically, what I wanna say is: you need to have hope. I know it may seem irrational, but even if it is there's nothing productive about dwelling on the terrible things going on in the world right now. You need to allow yourself things that genuinely, unabashedly, bring you joy. You deserve that. You've been through enough.
